I am going to try growing some plants under our mandarin tree this year. It is huge and there is always an abundance of fruit. Our fruit trees are on a french drain and do quite well. I can grow all of the plants you mentioned, so will start with them.

We got lots of fruit and were able to give some away too because we couldn't eat them all. Under my mandarin tree is some lavender. It's growing well and the mandarin also seems perfectly happy.
