i have one big clump of lemon grass that i keep taking pieces off nearly all year to grow in pots, i give most of them away but i aim to eventually put a few around my chook run so that i have a few more clumps growing. i have a hot,dry & humid area here & it still grows well here. i love combining it with other lemony herbs & peppermint geranium, makes a very refreshing tea.
thanx for sharing

Hi Morag,
I grew what I thought was lemongrass a few years ago, it turned out to be citronella, I was more than a bit confused cause it looked like lemongrass but after smelling it I knew it wasn't lemongrass. I will have to plant another clump of it as I do make a lot of Thai dishes. Have a great weekend

My allotment neighbour offered me some lemon grass the other day and I was not sure what to do with it. After reading this post I will value it higher. I already have a fine turmeric plant so I'm slowly building up my perennials in the garden. I was offered a piece of sprouting ginger the other day and popped that into the garden. I love how easily these things grow in our climate.
