Hi all. I was just wondering if the resin that everyone is using is safe and non-toxic? Would anyone have a material safety data sheet on their particular resin as I have looked at a few and am concerned that the pine resin can cause skin allergies and potentially asthma when using the resin itself? Could anyone point me in the right direction??

I have read several sites about making bee's wax wraps. Often pine resin is recommended for tackiness. A family member is allergic to pine resin (when handling the wood,) so I wouldn't chance using it near food. I mention this in case anyone's family member has a problem you can't pinpoint the source of . . . it could be the pine resin in your bee's wax wraps.

Hi Erin, Yes the oil helps to keep it more supple and the resin helps it to keep its stickiness. I usually just use beeswax and coconut oil as shown in the film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlsfOXejqLs I hope that helps. Cheers, Morag

Hi From Minnesota USA! Just wondering if any of you have experienced the fabric getting kind of "white/chalky" looking after you put pressure on it to wrap something? The first time I attempted to make these, I used straight up yellow beeswax and cotton fabric that I bought at a thrift store. Seemed to work well, except the yellow beeswax kind of yellows the fabric. I then went on Amazon and found organic white beeswax and tried that. But now the white beeswax makes the fabric look all worn and kind of whitefish when you go to wrap stuff. Does the resin and/or jojoba oil help with avoiding that to happen? Thank you for any advise!

I have that issue too and i did a ratio of 1 cup beeswax, 1/4 cup rosin, and 2 tbsp jojoba. I am going to try adding more wax to the mixture and see if that helps with the residue. Have you found a solution?
