Knowing how to do this gives you a great amount of independence and autonomy as a gardener, and can save you a huge amount of money while you are setting up your edible garden and food forest.  

Share your cuttings with friends, family, and neighbors. Ask for cuttings from their gardens too. 

Over the past few years I have given away tens of thousands of cuttings from my garden through the workshops I do. I often come home with bundles of new cuttings (and seeds) for my garden too. I love this wondrous informal money-free exchange of valuable plant resources among gardeners

It’s also a great way to make fabulously practical eco-gifts for your friends and family.
