Permaculture founder, Bill Mollison passed away on Saturday.
What an huge contribution this man made to the earth, to communities around the world and to so many people personally. I was born just before permaculture came into being and ever since I remember, I’ve known about it. As you can tell by the title of this blog, permaculture has had an enormous impact on my life and my family. There are millions of people around the world who have been touched by and influenced his thinking and activism. His work will continue to flourish and grow.
Thank you Bill. Rest in Peace.
Here’s one of the earliest clips I remember watching of Bill – love it!

What a great man he was and what a wonderful contribution he gave to making this world a healthier place to live. May we all learn from the gift of wisdom he was given on restoring balance to this beautiful earth.
Blessings Gail.
Thanks Morag, I didn't know this lovely man, but it is clear he was very wise. I wonder just how many lives he touched with his permaculture knowledge. I struggle with my attempts at gardening and seem to end up with every bug or disease in my garden. I believe I must embrace permaculture to turn the garden around. Thanks for highlighting the work of this wonderful man.
Have a lovely day

And because of his presence and gifts we met, Morag, what a day, a sad, poignant, amazing day…I'm so grateful to see his life being so deeply appreciated and illuminated…his work changed and guided my life out of hell, confusion and trauma, into love, fun and healing in powerful thriving community on Maui, in Australia, New Zealand and now, in Orkney, Scotland…where we now have the
Orkney Permaculture Network – OPN…Aloha!
Great clip!
I've just come in from the garden. I've a bunch of little flowers, some tiny tomatoes, a photo of the very first baby avocado formed on our tree. That same avocado tree has had a drink of worm tea from our worm farm this morning. All the while, the native bees were coming and going from their hives, the honeybees were dancing among the lavender. A Butcher Bird drank from our birdbath and the resident blue-tongue lizard came out to sunbake. My shoulders are warm from the sun, there's soil on the soles of my feet. I didn't know Bill Morrison but I am learning so much all the time from permaculture, his legacy. What an amazing legacy to leave the world. Meg
One of the most influential people of our time! His vision is spreading all around the world…. We we all be eternally grateful for his work!
My sincere apologies for my typo…Bill Mollison.

What a wonderful vignette of a morning touched by permaculture….thanks for sharing.
Did you ever see Bill Mollison's 4 part ABC Global Gardener series from 1991 – I hope it get's re-released. It was fantastic. I used to show it on all my permaculture courses, until videos were phased out!
That sounds like an excellent programme to watch. Will check out local library here in the south and see if it has it.
